Welcome to our page writ4cancerawareness.com! Our daughter Lauren was diagnosed in February of 2011 with a brain tumor. Within a few days of her diagnosis and surgery (resection) we were informed that she would need chemotherapy and radiation. There were so many terms, treatments, symptoms, side effects, etc. that we were not aware of. In a way it was good that we were exposed to all of these variables a little at a time so that we could gradually adjust. We decided to create this site to increase awareness of Childhood Cancer while providing a venue for people of all ages to come together with their thoughts and feelings. This may help friends and family members to learn about children with cancer and also what they are exposed to during their treatment. Sometimes friends may not know what to say to someone with Cancer or to know what the patient is going through. Children or families of children with cancer may find reading the blogs posted here supportive and helpful during their treatment as well. Poems, Short Essays, and Blogs of your thoughts and feelings are welcome! This is a place where anyone is welcome to write about what they are thinking.
